IF I NEED TO INTERVIEW REMOTELY, WHAT EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE DO I NEED?

If you have a laptop with a camera or a webcam, then you already have the basic equipment you need. For the best sound quality consider buying an inexpensive headset. This will help to reduce echo in the room and reduce feedback – my voice going through your speakers and back into your microphone. 

The second biggest problem with recordings is echo. If you can be in a room with minimal echo (maybe a room with a carpet or a rug) that would help. If you’re using a headset, this isn’t as much of an issue. 

 

We use Skype for all my interviews.  Through Skype, worldwide calls between computers are free. Google Hangouts is also another good option. You can also use a landline or cell phone with a headset if you prefer – though interviewing through Skype tends to have much better quality. 

 

 

HOW LONG WILL THE INTERVIEW BE?

We will talk for about 5 to 10 minutes before the interview, and the interview itself will be around 45 minutes so we recommend a budget a total of 1 hour for the appointment.

WHEN WILL MY SHOW AIR? WILL YOU NOTIFY ME? 

We will let you know when we plan to release the episode during the pre-interview and will send you an email the day your podcast goes live with a link to the podcast. Subscribers to the podcast will automatically download the episode.

HOW CAN I MAKE SURE THAT MY EPISODE GETS MORE EXPOSURE?

We will send out a notice to our social media followers when the episode is released. If you can send out an email or post to your social media accounts as well, we will increase the reach of the interview. 

Consider offering a promotion or giveaway specific to listeners of the show. 

CAN I PROMOTE MYSELF OR MY BUSINESS DURING THE INTERVIEW? 

Absolutely. We will start the interview with an introduction where you can plug your site. We can talk about your latest news and offers during the interview. At the end of the show, we will ask you to give people a way to reach you and find your business. 

We will post links to your site in the show notes.

HOW CAN I CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE THE INTERVIEW?

Please try to give us 24 hours’ notice. You can cancel by sending us an email or use the cancel link found in your confirmation email.
